The Universe!

“The Universe”

It’s a phrase that is now rivaling “God” for the most used and most misunderstood word in “the universe.”

But what exactly do people mean when they use it?  I certainly cannot speak for everyone, but I believe that I can speak for a multitude of believers out there that have a common definition.
The Universe is a common way to refer to the connective energy that flows through all forms; solids, liquids, gases, literally all matter and space seen and unseen.  In many circles it is used to mean the same thing as God, but without the judgments and stigmas that go along with the word.
My personal belief is that it is not intended to refute the existence of a divine force, because I see it used in order to communicate the same ideas and ideals as the traditional use of the word God.  But it does do something miraculous that the word God has never done…It includes all of us in its implementation.  The Universe by definition is all inclusive.  It takes into consideration all things and all things are connected.  And when all things are connected the realization that all things are necessary follows.

In science and in New Age Spirituality the importance of connectivity is shared.  For example, the bee, the butterfly, and the worm are essential in the perpetuation of human life on the planet, as well as other forms of life.  If they were to become extinct, then we would also not be able to survive.
To further differentiate The Universe from the term God, is that while both are seen by many as divine, the Universe has no preconceived form.  When you visualize God on the other hand many people see a distinct “form” in their minds.  A form placed there from years of conditioning.  And once God becomes form, it is also susceptible to prejudice, interpretation, ownership and even anger and hatred.

The Universe connects us through energy and as we begin to understand the depth by which we are all connected, we begin to understand the responsibility we have to each other.

The greatest teachers that ever walked the earth all taught the same thing, and they all denounced the same thing.  They denounced religion, and they taught Love.
